The temperate, sub-tropical climate offers temperatures range from 16°-25°C during the winter months and in summer tempratures can reach 32°C with relatively high humidity. The annual rainfall peaks in at around 1009 mm January and February with the hottest month being February and the coldest July. Average temperatures around 28°C and 23°C respectively. January has the highest humidity and the month of July is the driest.
Please note that for entering South Africa, immigration requires that all passengers have a valid passport and at least four pages are needed to remain blank for the issuing of stamps. The passport also needs to be valid for at least 30 days after the intended date of departure.

Pets are welcome in our guest bedrooms and a range of pet beds and menus are available. This can be arranged when making your reservation. Please ensure to give prior notification. Though a deposit is requested upon arrival in case of any damage caused, this will be returned to you at the end of your stay.
Skabenga (which means hooligan or vagabond in Zulu) is the resident cat at The Oyster Box, and has made Umhlanga’s ‘grand old dame’ his permanent home, for over10 years.
