A recent guest to The Oyster Box Hotel was so impressed by his stay that he wrote this poem about it and shared it with us. Thank you Lenn Fenn, we hope to welcome you back soon maybe for some more afternoon tea!
Our visit to The Oyster Box Hotel
We arrive at the hotel on our tour bus
The doorman is waiting to greet all of us
The reception’s busy, but after a while
We are given our room numbers with a big smile
We are serve fruit juice or a glass of wine
Enjoy your stay with us and have a good time
Our room is well furnished and looks over the sea
With apples and coffee and a nice cup of tea
The ocean terrace is great for a snack
It’s there that we join the rest of the pack
The food is delicious and served with a smile
We are all full up so it should do for a while
Then the private cinema is a place we should go
To have our own special movie show
It’ sweets and popcorn again we are fed
Before watching a film called “Waking Ned”
It’s prawns and curry, again we eat
By now it’s becoming quite a feat
We are invited to the bar to have a drink
Here’s cheers to the management as glasses clink
In our room, before we lay down our head
Are all these things layed-out on the bed
A chocolate, a peak and a cap for me
As well as more cakes from the high tea
At breakfast time we do our own thing
The buffet’s laid out and is fit for a king
We are given a tour with Wayne at the head
We put on our aprons which are all coloured red
The staff are all smiling and happy to be there
They say we are looked after by Mr Coetzer
We are full up from breakfasts give lunch a miss
Just relax round the pool, it’s heavenly bliss
High tea is next which is in the Palm Court
With sandwiches and cakes we cannot fault
Then we are served with our fish and chips
This will put another inch around our hips
It’s back to the movies. We are so full
But have sweets and popcorn while watching “Sky Fall”
It’s down to breakfast on our last day
See smiling faces, wish we could stay
In our room we begin to pack
Telling ourselves we are sure to come back
Waiting at the door is Wayne and the cat
Wishing us all that we must soon come back
We are given a nougat and a CD too
Waving us good bye and saying toodaloo
Whenever we visit Umhlanga Rocks
The best place to go is “The Oyster Box”
