Meet our Wedding Planner

All you need for a memorable wedding day

Ginny Eslick

Ginny Eslick, brings a wealth of knowledge from her years working on some of Durban’s biggest events, as well her seven years of hands-on experience as the Wedding Co-ordinator at The Oyster Box.

Ginny’s passion is a driving force in her effort to provide every bridal couple with the most memorable wedding day. Her meticulous attention to detail and the support she provides to the couple and their families throughout the process are what makes Ginny perfect for the job.

“Meticulous pre-planning and attention to detail are key elements to the success of any wedding. We offer a ‘one-stop’ service, working hand-in-hand with the hotel team and suppliers to ensure that absolutely nothing is left to chance,” says Ginny.

“From the budget, invitation process, planning the programme for the day itself, menu planning, flowers and décor, to hair and make up styling, the marriage Officiator, photography and music. I have every confidence in our suppliers, which I’m able to pass on to our wedding couples.”

“Our brides expect to receive five star treatment and beyond! It’s important for me to ensure that all the hotel departments involved, contribute to achieving this. I see myself as the ‘conductor’ of the orchestra’, pulling the various threads of the event together and ensuring that everybody is in harmony with each other to create the perfect symphony.

"It is all in the detail as well as being able to offer expert guidance and advice around the planning," Ginny says. ";No stone is left unturned from my side in trying to achieve this on behalf of the bridal couple."

“We only have one shot at providing the bridal couple with the most memorable wedding day. This includes ensuring that the hotel is supported by the best suppliers who can offer the same professional service as the hotel does.”

Our brides expect to receive five star treatment and beyond! It’s important for me to ensure that all the hotel departments involved, contribute to achieving this – I am like a conductor of an orchestra, pulling all the elements together and offering the bridal couple a one stop service.

Wedding Planning Tips

Budget

Establish your budget up front before embarking on venue choice and planning. Be cautious and do not spend money where you do not need to. Do you have enough money to have your dream wedding? Who will pay for what? Having a proper budget will help you stick to what you can afford.

Venue

Choose a venue that has a reputation for providing a stress-free wedding day.

Planning

Thorough and meticulous planning is paramount. Remember to plan for things that could go wrong e.g. the weather, if your Ceremony is taking place outside.

Priorities

Keep your eye on what is really important to you and your fiancé. While it is ‘your’ day, it is also important to take your guests into consideration, as you want them to remember your special day.

Stary true to you

This is one of the most important days of your life and the day should reflect your personalities and what’s important to you.

Suppliers

Book your suppliers immediately as most of the good ones are booked a year in advance. Together with the Wedding Coordinator of the venue, they play a key role towards the success of your wedding day.
