Itinerary: 

  • History talk about the Umhlanga Lighthouse at the hotel with tea and coffee
  • A visit to Victoria Street Market where you will receive a 'dabba' complete with spices (per group)
  • A visit to Hare Krishna Temple of Understanding in Chatsworth which includes a sampling of Indian snacks and desserts
  • Lunch at a local hotspot for Bunny Chow, a unique dish in Durban
  • Guided session with one of our chefs at The Oyster Box to learn more about creating authentic Indian dishes with spices purchased from Victoria Street Market

Zulu Cultural Tour

Itinerary:

  • History talk about the Umhlanga Lighthouse at the hotel with tea and coffee
  • A visit to PheZulu Safari Park, where you will experience traditional Zulu dancing
  • A visit to a local hotspot for a shisha nyama (hot meat) experience complete with local beers
  • Visit to a Woza Moya, a community-run project to learn a little about local arts, crafts and bead work

  • History talk about the Umhlanga Lighthouse at the hotel with tea and coffee
  • A visit to PheZulu Crocodile and reptile park to get up close to a variety of crocodiles and snakes.
  • A visit to Tala Private Game Reserve to experience so game viewing and to learn about the local wildlife
  • Lunch in the garden while taking in the wildlife and scenery

Price: R 3200 per person for two people (up to a maximum of eight guests) or R 6000 for solo travellers

Full Day

Itinerary:

  • History talk about the Umhlanga Lighthouse at the hotel with tea and coffee
  • A visit to Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre
  • Lunch at a local hotspot in St. Lucia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • A two hour boat cruise on Lake St. Lucia to see hippos and crocodiles
  • A visit to a locally run community craft market

Duration: 12 hours
