It’s not Christmas without a party

Back by popular demand at The Oyster Box’s beachfront Ocean Terrace, Carols by Candlelight on 19th December receives a full-bodied, foot-tapping makeover this year with a ‘Rocking’ party theme. After dining on a feast of festive fare, enjoy a live performance that includes traditional favourites alongside sing-along crowd-pleasers.
The Carols are a merry precursor to the much-anticipated Christmas Eve Dinner Dance on 24th December. This glittering black-tie event includes a lavish five-course menu, with sumptuous haute cuisine expertly prepared by our team of skilled chefs.

Enjoy a world-class Christmas lunch

Whether it’s the convivial Grill Room, prestigious Pearl Room or balmy Ocean Terrace overlooking the sea, The Oyster Box has plenty of options to choose from for lunch on Christmas Day. Festooned in chic festive décor, with entertainment provided by some of Durban’s prime live acts, the indulgent Christmas lunch at The Oyster Box is what brings our guests back to celebrate with us year after year.

Unwind with a movie

For some time out from the high-octane festivities, The Oyster Box’s plush private cinema has a well-stocked library of films to indulge in. Sink back into a leather armchair and tuck into fresh popcorn and candy as you enjoy a select screening. Film buffs will enjoy the Dinner and a Movie package on 14th December, which includes a glass of something special alongside the movie snacks.

Feast on a festive high tea

The reputation of The Oyster Box’s legendary High Tea precedes it, and during the festive season, expect double the indulgence. A deftly prepared spread of pastries, cakes, desserts and tarts are laced with festive flair and served in the grand surrounds of the Palm Court with a soothing backdrop of live piano music.
